Stuart Mathews and his wife Pam raised their family in Boston and have been coming to the Upper Valley since the early 1990s. They moved to Woodstock in 2011. Stuart started his career at The Bank of Boston as a commercial lender and in 1989 joined a partner in starting Metapoint Partners, a small private equity firm, where he has worked since.

He was drawn to the area because of all the opportunities for outdoor activities and loves the charm of Woodstock and the fact that for a small town, there is so much to see and do here and in the surrounding area. Stuart is committed to contributing to the community and in addition to being Board Chair of Pentangle he is involved with the Woodstock Village Conservancy.

Kristian Preylowski is one of the co-owners and operators of The Yankee Bookshop, Woodstock's historic bookstore, open since 1935. Along with his wife Kari, they've been running the shop since 2017, where they live out their dreams selling books, records, art supplies, and more, while serving the community at large.

Kristian is a lifelong patron of the arts, and he continues to practice his own forms of art — as musician, photographer, street philosopher, writer, and multi-media artist. When he's not at the bookshop, you may find him at home inside the studio, or outside in gardens, on trails in the woods, or on the lake in a kayak.

Ben Jervey is a researcher and communications consultant focused on climate, energy, and the environment. He currently runs the ImpactUS.org project for Vyridian Strategic Advisors, part of the Global Strategic Communications Council. Previously, he was a Senior Strategist for Sunstone, helping national coalitions advance electrification of buildings and transportation systems. He served as Climate and Energy Media Fellow at Vermont Law School's Institute for Energy and the Environment and was the founding Environment Editor for GOOD Magazine, where he wrote the weekly column “The New Ideal,” and spent years as Blog Editor for OnEarth Magazine, the Natural Resources Defense Council's publication.

His writing has appeared in National Geographic News, Grist, DeSmog, Men's Journal, The New York Daily News, The Huffington Post, and many other outlets. He has written two books — The Watt: An Energy 101 Primer and The Big Green Apple, called the “bible of green living for NYC” — and co-authored The Electric Battery: Charging Toward a Low Carbon Future.

Ben has been the journalist-in-residence on Cape Farewell arctic climate research expedition to Greenland and the Rapporteur to Salzburg Global Seminar. In 2007, Interview Magazine named him to its “50 Under 30 Pop List.” He graduated with honors from Middlebury College in Environmental Studies.

Bill Conway and his wife Trish split their time between their home in South Woodstock and Boston's South End. He retired in 2023 from athenahealth, Inc. where he was the Chief Sales Officer & Executive Vice President. He also held executive roles at Amwell, Allscripts and IDX Systems Corporation. Now semi-retired, he provides executive leadership and go-to-market guidance via Slopeside Consulting.

Bill brings extensive experience at organizing and managing large events. A trained bartender, live-music aficionado and downhill skier, Bill is looking to engage with local organizations that make a difference. His enthusiasm for the arts, passion for the area, historic focus on customer service and a renewed emphasis on hospitality are a great combination for Pentangle.

Jeff Dillon lives in South Woodstock and has been engaged with the community for over 20 years. He is a global healthcare professional and resides in the private equity world. His professional experience includes the British Consulate, Getinge, Philips Medical Systems, GE Medical, and PKI. Throughout his tenure, Jeff has been heavily involved in private equity, in both the acquisition and restructuring of various corporations.

He has held various board positions in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors, including Bay State Medical Center, C. Medical, Ottauquechee Health Foundation, the Federation of American Hospitals, Miele Corporation, Zack's Place, and the Scotland House. He received a bachelor's degree from Saint Anselm's College and attended the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Jen Flaster moved to Vermont in 2006 from New York and established her own fundraising and marketing consultancy working with a varied clientele from Sustainable Woodstock to the National Museum of Forest Service History. Jen is currently the Manager of Advancement at Billings Farm & Museum. In this role she has led the Woodstock Vermont Film Series for the past 4 years, as well as directing the fundraising, marketing, and communications teams. Prior to that she had a 6-year tenure at Farm & Wilderness Foundation, where she led the team to close a $5.5 million capital campaign.

She has a strong affinity for the performing arts and has held board positions with arts nonprofits including Pentangle Arts Council (2010-2012) and Eleva Chamber Players (2009-current). She is a violinist who has performed as a member of symphonic orchestras, pit orchestras, chamber groups, and a rock band.

Jen and her husband Jay have two daughters in the Woodstock schools, both of whom enjoy performing as actors and keep her involved in the local theater scene. She also enjoys working with kids, including as a Union Arena Skating Club coach and a Hebrew School teacher at Congregation Shir Shalom.

Alano Miller is a locally based actor, writer, and producer. He recently originated the dual roles of Kwame/James Hemings in Suzan Lori-Parks' acclaimed Sally and Tom at The Public in NYC. In television, The Hollywood Reporter listed Alano as one of the “30 Best Supporting Actors To Watch Out For” for his work in Underground. While in film his work as Raymond Green in Focus Features' critical darling Loving garnered an NAACP Image Award nomination.

A graduate of SUNY Purchase, with a Masters from Penn State, Alano is an energetic advocate for the arts and is passionate about the notion of developing Woodstock into a center for performing arts. His experience and connections with a broad array of actors, writers and producers will help provide Pentangle with a larger perspective as we imagine our future.

Priscilla Painton lives in Woodstock with her husband, Andrew Heyward. She came to publishing in 2008 after 28 years as a journalist at The Berkshire Eagle, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Washington Post, and Time Magazine, where she was deputy managing editor. Today she is Vice President & Editor-in-Chief of Simon & Schuster.

Her numerous bestsellers show not just her passion for being ahead of the story, but also for revealing what's behind it. She has published books by Hillary Rodham Clinton (What Happened, The Book of Gutsy Women, also with Chelsea Clinton) and by John Bolton (The Room Where It Happened), as well as books that dig deep into big corporations (Kochland by Christopher Leonard), Supreme Court showdowns (Supreme Ambition by Ruth Marcus), Russian treachery (Bill Browder's Red Notice), class in America (Janesville by Amy Goldstein), and even First Ladies, including Michelle (about Michelle Obama) by Liza Mundy, The Art of Her Deal (about Melania Trump) by Mary Jordan, and The Triumph of Nancy Reagan by Karen Tumulty.

Dan Peirce spent over twenty years in corporate America as a brand and marketing leader for brands including Gatorade, Starbucks, Welch's, and TJ Maxx before making a pivot to the nonprofit world in 2021. He's currently an independent consultant having most recently led Corporate Partnership development with retailers and consumer goods companies for Save the Children, the world's leading independent NGO focused on children's health, education, and well-being.

He has an extensive background in revitalizing heritage brands, delivering product/customer experience innovation, and re-imagining marketing organizations to cultivate growth. He received an MBA from The University of Michigan Ross School of Business and a BS from Cornell University.

Dan moved to Woodstock full time in 2023 with his wife, Meridith, and pitbull rescue, Otis. Committed to making a difference in our community, he currently serves on the Woodstock Economic Development Commission and is the Director of Development for Bookstock, Woodstock's Festival of Words.
