After School Performing Arts

School-year youth performance program

Pentangle's After School Performing Arts program gives young performers ages 7–14 a supportive, creative environment to explore theatre. Students build confidence and performance skills through theatre games, improvisation, character development, movement, music, storytelling, rehearsal, and ensemble work. Sessions culminate in public performances that give participants an opportunity to share what they have created together.

Fall Youth Theatre Performance Program

September 15 – October 27, 2026

The Fall program explores seasonal festivals and storytelling traditions connected to the history and development of theatre, with particular attention to Halloween and All Souls' Day.

Culminating performance

Performance: October 30 · 6:00 PM. Planned culminating material includes the traditional Souling Song, a Souling (Mummers') Play, and a dramatization of the Scottish ballad Get Up and Bar the Door.

Holiday Afterschool Performance Program

November 3 – December 10, 2026

The Holiday program explores traditions of winter celebration, including Wassailing, through song, storytelling, ceremony, movement, theatre, and ensemble performance.

Culminating performance

Community Holiday Concert: December 11 · 6:00 PM. Students perform alongside Pentangle's Community Band and Community Choir.

Support for taking part.

For the Fall/Holiday 2026 cycle, each five-week program is $250. The full cycle is documented at $400 total, reflecting a $100 discount for families registered for both programs.

Sibling discounts and scholarships are available. No student will be turned away due to financial hardship.
