Bookstock
A festival built around words — and around Woodstock.
Bookstock Festival of Words brings writers, poets, readers, families, and visitors together in and around Woodstock’s Village Green. Founded in 2009, the volunteer-driven festival has grown into a celebration of writing and storytelling, with author and poet events, workshops and master classes, a large used-book sale, performances, exhibitions, and activities for families.

Our connection
Where our paths meet.
Pentangle’s involvement with Bookstock is part of our broader commitment to a lively cultural community in Woodstock. During the festival, our work and spaces may become part of a larger village-wide celebration led independently by Bookstock.
Bookstock is an independent nonprofit organization and one of Pentangle’s community partners. Pentangle is proud to be part of the network of local organizations that helps bring the festival to life.

In the village
Stories move through a town.
Reading, conversation, and performance belong to the same impulse: gathering around something worth paying attention to. A festival of books and a night at the theatre are two versions of the same village habit.
The room we share
A theatre in the middle of it all.
